I just love seeing our OB Tree lit up at the end of Newport! A Christmas tree on the beach covered in beach balls (hilarious!) Adorable ornaments handmade & decorated by students in OB. Like a warm blanket for my sometimes weathered spirit, I feel a closer sense of community when I look at up at this tree made with love. If you want to see this time honored tradition continue then please join us where it all begins on....
Thurs., December 4, 2008 - Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm - The Annual OB Christmas Tree Auction @ Sunshine Co Saloon (21 & older) (5028 Newport Ave). A tradition where local businesses get together and donate fabulous and exclusive items to be auctioned off to the public once a year!
This year you can do something good by bidding on something naughty! The "Naughty Basket" filled with..uh..em...naughty little things - guaranteed to keep you warmer than chestnuts roasting on an open fire! All proceeds go to benefit the OB Holiday Tree fund.
Sat., December 6, 2008 - Starts at 5:00pm (OBST) - Tempting OB into the Holly Daze spirit, The CaBurlesque Kittens will be performing in the annual OB Christmas Parade on December 6th. The parade starts @ 5 o'clock OB Time. If you're not sure what OB Time is, we don't regret to inform you it can't be explained, it must be experienced. This unparalleled parade is one of our favorite yearly excuses to get decked out in our holiday gear and cheer! Don't forget to put your bells on, baby!
Sunday, December 7, 2008 - Time: 10AM to 1 PM - We have a real "treat" for all our pooch loving friends at Sandy Claws Holiday Party on Dog Beach located @ the end of Voltaire. This event is sponsored by OB Town Council. You don't want to miss the Pooch Costume Contest, prizes, games, food and of course our very own Temptress Booth with CaBurlesque Kittens ready to pose with you. Ladies, Temptress Fashion understands your holiday dilemmas. So many parties, so little time. Or..is it so many men, so little time?? hmmm....well, whatever...men...parties...you get the gist. We know you want to look fabulous! Spend more time celebrating and less time hunting for the must have perfect holiday look. Here are a few Temptress tips, including what's hot for this festive season:
1. It ain't yer Mammy's (or yer Grammy's) Holiday Party! Translation: You don't have to wear brooches or velour! Vibrant colors are all the rage to spread good cheer this year. Check out our gorgeous new accessories and dresses (the new bomb-shell burgundy satin Pinup Couture "Greta" dress is supremely sassy & fab,) and please leave the Snoopy in a Santa hat tee @ home!

The latest trend is to boldly accentuate one of your best features (i.e. eyes, lips, or cheeks) while subtly accentuating the others. Make-up artists have revealed that the trick for pulling this look off is to not go overboard. I repeat: "while subtly accentuating the others." Be brave. Be bold. Don't be scary.
3. Holiday shopping does not have to be stressful! It is not taboo to buy yourself presents! (Anyhoo, lingerie isn't a present that you keep to yourself, is it?) Better yet, lovely ladies, consider giving those well meaning men in your lives the best present possible. Let them off the hook! Sweetly inform them while wearing a smile: Temptress Fashion offers gift certificates. (Gents, we know you have your own ideas. The above tip is only for the gifting-impaired men! If you are reading this, we have already established that you have good taste.)
Listen. Last but not least: We are collecting toys and canned goods for the local families & children of OB. Drop off your unwrapped present and/or canned goods at our store starting now! Help us help those in need. And put a carol on your lips to match those rosy cheeks!
